Frenchpark Races:
An Annual Event now weather permitting, Frenchpark hosts a day of Pony Racing and a family fun day each July . This year we were blessed with a good dry day and had a nice turnout for the event. Racing Punters were able to have a flutter and the children enjoyed themselves on bouncy castles. Next year come along and bring your binoculars.
In Frenchpark we have a variety of active sporting groups. Western Gaels GAA club play at home here in Nash Park. They are a long established club with a big following. Information can be found on their webpage with updates of fixtures etc at http://www.westerngaels.com/
There is also an active Gun Club and Boxing Club in the area. Lots of nice quiet roads for a short stroll or a longer ramble. The Demesne walk is a nice loop walk favoured by many while the Cloonshanville road out through the tranquil bog is a favourite with dog owners.
Soccer training also takes place for children on saturday mornings at Nash Park with a newly running light training session for the ladies on Tuesday and Thursday nights – more affectionately referred to “Yummy Mummy” training. However you don’t need to be a mummy ladies, all are welcome.
